AUCKLAND, April 21. The H. O. Nolan Handicap, the Great Northern St. Leger Stakes, and the Huia Handicap, are important events to be decided on the second day of the Auckland Racing Club’s autumn meeting at Ellerslie tomorrow. The Nolan Handicap will be the first leg of the double, run over a mile and a half for £2250, and the Huia Handicap will be the second leg. Black Raven, which ran creditably for second in the President’s Handicap yesterday, and Straight Lead, a newcomer to the meeting, may be the hardest to beat in the Nolan Handicap. India, an unlucky third in the Easter Handicap, is another which has entered calculations for the race. Royal Crescent, Solepic and Taboo are expected to dispute the finish in the Huia Handicap. Passive, which was beaten by Alluring in the Great Northern Oaks yesterday, will be a firm favourite to make amends in the Great Northern St. Leger Stakes, one mile and three-quarters. She looked none the worse for her exertions yesterday when she did light work at Takanini this morning. The weather has remained fine, although overcast mainly. If the fair spell holds, the going will again be good. Riding engagements include:— T W. J - Broughton: Solepic, Honest John, Summersette; L. G. ColesDany Oman. Harp of Erin; R. G.
