The Department of Trade has forecast a big increase in exports of Australian fashion goods to New Zealand and other countries in the next 12 months. .« A spokesman for the Depart- J ment of Trade said in Sydney this f ? morning that interest in Australian fashion goods had been shown in recent months by im- • porters in New Zealand, Holland, Canada, Singapore, the West Indies and Central and South Africa. Displays of fashion goods had been sponsored in these countries by the Department of Trade and Australian manufacturers. The first display abroad of Australian fashions was held in New Zealand in April last year. Since then, the spokesman said, the value of fashion exports to New Zealand had risen by £lOO,OOO.
