Soviet And Japan May Establish Relations
MOSCOW, July 21. A group of Japanese Parliamentarians visiting Moscow said today that they had been told by the Soviet Deputy Foreign Minister (Mr Andrei Vyshinsky) that Russia “earnestly hoped’’ to establish formal diplomatic relations with Japan. Mr Naomi Nishimura, leader of the group, quoted Mr Vyshinsky as saying the Soviet Union would make every effort to establish relations between the two countries on a basis of “mutual independence, freedom, and benefit” as soon as possible.
