ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE
PRIORY VOTE OF THANKS TO BE PRESENTED Mr K. A. Falconer, Deputy-Chief Commissioner of the Order of St. John in New will visit the headquarters of the Canterbury-West Coast District of the St. John Ambulance Brigade on July 19 to present a Priory Vote of Thanks, which has been awarded to the district in recognition of services given by brigade members during the visit of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. The award will be presented by Mr Falconer on behalf of the GovernorGeneral (Sir Willoughby Norrie), who is Prior of the Order in New Zealand. Officers and adult members of the brigade in the Christchurch Corps will parade at the St. John Ambulance headquarters in Peterborough street in review order dress. Sub-districts and divisions outside the Christchurch corps have also been invited, as well as officers of the brigade reserve and the retired list, and all cadets who did public duty service during the Royal visit.
Service medals and bars, recently awarded, will be presented at the parade as follows: Service medals: Cadet Superintendents J. Abrams and C. T. Ford, Honorary Sergeant C. J. Lawrence, Corps Officer W. M. Lake. Ambulance Sisters A. Smythe, J. Davies (Christchurch), E. Collins, F M. Sneddon, A. Stevens and V. R. Williams (Lyttelton), District Officer M. L. Thompson. Honorary Sergeant M. Becks and Ambulance Sister D. M. Seed (North Canterbury). Service Medal Bars: District Officer J. W. Duncan, Divisional Superintendents C. A. Baldwin and J. Jamieson, Ambulance Sisters M. Prince and F. A. Kite (Christchurch). Cadet Grand Prior’s Badges: Cadet Corporal A. Hall (Christchurch Railway Ambulance Division), and Cadet C. A. Barltrop (Christchurch Cadet Ambulance Division).
