COMPULSORY ACQUISITION OF LAND
Sir ’ 1 bought land to provide for my purpose. Nov/, the Government has forcibly taken it against my request to remain its owner. This is bad enough, but how very much worse for me to be offered about one half the price I could readily sell it for. As you know, every item of goods and services has risen highly; and if I am compelled to accept the Government’s oner it will mean for me being unable to buy a corresponding area of land m a less favourable place, since, to meet the price demanded, I shall- have ™^ fficient ™ one y- The.
