“THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN”

Sir—l have followed with interest reports of the “Abominable Snowman. There seems little doubt that some creature exists high in the Himalayas,’ most authorities suggest in the form of an ape. Though I cannot remember reading it, its colour would almost certainly be white, judging by analogy with Arctic animals. This, combined with pinkish lips and nostrils, would give it a partly human appearance, and account for its elusiveness. Has this view been expressed by anyone in a position to- know?—Yours, July 7, 1954.
