POINT TO POINT MEETING
ASHBURTON NOMINATIONS Nominations totalling 88 have been received for the annual point-to-point steeplechase meeting of the Ashburton branch of the Christchurch Hunt Club to be held on Saturday. Acceptances in the main events are as follows:
MAIDEN STEEPLECHASE (about two miles).—Merriman 12-0; Fort Marshall, Irish Nip, Peter, Fairest Way, Rowallen, Ayonhead, Tehoian, Greta Royal, First Spin 11-7.
WOMEN’S RACE (about two miles); minimum 10-7.—Mr Chips, Tommy, Greta Royal, Moonlight, Troy. HEAVY-WEIGHT STEEPLECHASE (about two miles).—Sir Peterson, Penetration> Margaret’s Card, Fairest Way. Trumpet, Shy Skipper, Jackpot. Royal Venture 13-0.
LIGHT - WEIGHT STEEPLECHASE (about two miles and a half). —Merriman 12-0; Fort Marshall, Mightgo, Boroto, Avonhead, Debden, Royal Venture, Mentor, First Spin 11-9.
FLAT RACE (about one mile).—Master Neptune 12-0; Beeline, Debden, Pukka Sahib, Mightgo 11-9; Merriman 11-9; Midnight Robin 11-2; Fort Marshall, Penetration, Margaret’s Card, Rowalien, Lady Doretta, Dry Bread 11-0.
