Shipping- Statistics.— Cargo handled at Lyttelton in June totalled 108,998 tons, compared with 86,159 tons in June, 1953. So far this year the total is 771,089 tons, more than 7000 tons higher than at the corresponding stagelast year. In June, 118 vessels entered the port compared with 75 in June, 1953, the net register tonnage totalling 225,277 (140,048).
