CONCERT PARTY IN KOREA

FORTY SHOWS PLANNED IN SIX WEEKS

(NX. Army Information Service) KURE, July 6. The fifth New Zealand concert party to perform before Commonwealth troops in Japan and Korea has arrived in Kure by air. With the pajjty is Pat McMinn (Auckland), who many K Force men remember well as a popular vocalist with the second party to come from the Dominion.

Other members of the party are Mrs Kirk-Burnnand (Dunedin) pianist, Cecil Morris (Auckland) conjurer, John Reidy (Auckland) comedian, and Johnny Cooper (Wellington) vocalist and guitarist. Faced with an itinerary of more than 40 shows in six weeks, they have a strenuous time ahead of them. After two nights in Japan they left for Pusan by air this morning to begin their tour of Korea. After giving three shows at Pusan they will fly to Seoul. They will spend about a month in the British Commonwealth Division area, performing often twice daily, before flying to Tokyo. The party will then play in the Kure area for several days before leaving by air for Australia on August 16.
