WELLINGTON BEATS TARANAKI
(W«w Zealand Press Association) HAWERA, July 7. A penalty goal on time gave Wellington ® 11-3 win in the annual Rugby match asunst Taranaki at the Hawera Show this afternoon. It was a bright, gen game, with the honours even. Weltackling was weak, but Tarafcakj’g attack was not fast enough to take of it 51 the first spell Taranaki led 8-5, C. Henderson and C. Deakin scoring for Taanaki and W. Cameron converting a Wellington’s points came from a try fT J. K. Sage. D. Wright converting for «• Wellington evened the score late m the *cond spell with an unconverted try by «■ Cook, and a penalty kick on time by £J. S. Riley, who replaced R. G. Bowers ,'s>, the second half, gave Wellington the 'taring points.
