Wann Welcome From Londoners LONDON, July 6Cheering crowds at the railway station and at Downing Street greeted Sir Winston Churchill and Mr Anthony Eden on their return to London from North America. They came to London by a six-coach special train from Southampton Sir Winston Churchill said the Washington talks had helped towards achieving "good understanding and solid agreement" between the participating Powers. _ The urgency with which bir Winston Churchill summoned his Cabinet indicates that he has come back from his talks with President Eisenhower full of vigour and ready to plunge into the host of foreign and domestic problems facing.him. Sir Winston Churchill said on landing: “We hope to be judged not only by the immediate reception of our efforts, but also by their influence on the future course of events, and alter all, nothing comes before the true and lasting friendship between Britain and the United States ” Decisions from the Washington talks are being quickly implemented. British and American officials are already at work on policy towards West Germany and the setting up of a South-east Asia Defence Pact.
