ELDERLY COUPLE FOUND DEAD
FOUL PLAY NOT SUSPECTED
The bodies of Mr Arthur Harley Jones, aged 73, and his wife, Mrs Beatrice Grice Jones, aged 74, were found in a flat behind the Christian Spiritualist Church, 272 Madras street, yesterday morning.
Post-mortem examinations are being made. The couple had apparently been dead for 36 hours. No- foul play is susptected by the police. Mr Jones had a bad heart for which he had been taking digitalis. It is thought that Mrs Jones' found him dead and dressed to go for help but collapsed and died. Mrs Jones had been bedridden for the last three or four years. The president of the church (Mr O. G. Moody) found the bodies. s Mr and Mrs Jones had lived in the flat at the back of the church for eight years. Mr Jones was employed as a caretaker of the church.
