COMPROMISE APPROVED IN DAMAGES CLAIM
A settlement, at £450 general damages and £136 special damages, of a claim by Rosalie Jessie Stanley Joblm, a typist, against Arthur William Benton, a plasterer, was approved by Mr Justice McGregor in the Supreme Court yesterday. Mr A. C. Perry appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr H. S. Thomas for the defendant. Mr Perry said that the plaintiff, who was 17, suffered a broken leg when the motor-cycle on which she was a pillion rider and a motor-cycle ridden by the defendant collided at the corner of Tedder avenue and Marriotts road, North Beach, on July 3, 1952. She had made an almost complete recovery and was Sack at work. His Honour said it seemed a proper compromise and he would make the order sought.
