BIG CROWDS AT WINTER SALE
ENTHUSIASTIC CUSTOMERS AT ANTHONY ANDERSEN, LTD. “Everyone was so delighted with the bargains; all day long people have been telling me that they had been to our sale in previous years and now, knowing just what bargains they could expect, they wouldn’t miss it,” said one of the assistants at Anthony Andersen, Ltd., commenting last evening on the record crowds all day yesterday for the first day of the winter fashion sale. Throughout the whole of the day, although extra staff been engaged, the shop was thronged with enthusiastic buyers and at times queues waited outside.

For every one person who comes on the opening day, half a dozen come later in the week when there are not the same crowds and things are quieter. Actually,” said the assistant, “the bargains will be just as good every day until the sale finishes. It is impossible to display everything at once, and, consequently, fresh stocks are brought forward each day.” ~ja sL e - e n, ‘r ' ?
