WOMEN’S TEMPERANCE UNION
LINWOOD BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Linwood branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in the Baptist School Hall, with Mrs C. R. N. Mackie presiding. Literature > was distributed to members for circulation in the district. In observance of “White Ribbon” Day, Mrs Fuller gave a short resume of the union’s paper Mrs Black reported on the work of the Band of Hope Union, and the president reported on a recent meeting in the council concerning the chair of obstetrics and gynaecology at the hospital for women. It was reported that Mrs A. Trotman had been appointed paper cuttings superintendent, and Mrs. L. W. Voller had been appointed one of the mental hospital visitors A special collection was taken for the “White Ribbon” fund.
