WOMEN AND THE ELECTION

Sir,—“Be Fair” says “Lest We Forget” must remember that the slump was world-wide, and in some countries under Labour government. But our country should not have suffered when millions of our money were in London. I wonder if “Be Fair” suffered at that time or if he, or she, had full and plenty. Has “Be Fair” seen little children suffer with no money to buy medicine, or seen the queues in front of relief depots to turn away empty-handed when told that food was all given out? Has she seen her man sent to relief work miles away from his home, with dry bread for all his meals until he received the pittance he earned. Many have, and I say be fair and give this Government a little credit for what it has done in uplifting the people.—Yours, etc., FAIR PLAY. June 26, 1846.
