TUESDAY (Before Mr H. P. La wry, S.M.) REMANDED Reuben Henry Cannon, a farm hand, was remanded to appear to-day, on a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge, at the Chatham Islands, of a girl, aged 11 years and eight months. Bail was renewed at £2OO, in accused’s own recognisance, with one surety of £2OO, or two of £lOO each. Ellinor Mary Jeffs, a domestic, aged 19, of Dunedin, was remanded to appear to-day on a charge of being found without lawful excuse in enclosed premises of the New Zealand Railways Department in Moorhouse avenue, but in circumstances which did not show intent to commit a crime. Senior-Sergeant G. Taylor, who prosecuted, said that accused, who had been missing from DuneA din, did not appear to be quite normal.
