DECREASED TAXATION
Sir,—The end of the war has eased our tax burden by ending national security tax, but we still must fight our internal war against selfishness and bad-citizenship, moral cowardice, and extravagance. The best form of national defence against these enemies is an intensive campaign to spread knowledge and practice of the principles of fundamental Christianity among all classes of the community, to bring them into our homes and our businesses, to make them an integral part of our daily lives. The army we need for this work is formed by the Christian soldiers of the Church of God, both clergy and laymen; and this army needs munitions and equipment. What more practical way to ensure national security against these internal enemies that to submit to a voluntary tax by subscribing at least part of our tax remission bonus to church work? —Yours, etc., MONEY WELL SPENT. June 25, 1946.
