N.Z. INSTITUTE OF FORESTERS
OFFICERS ELECTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 24. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Institute of Foresters decided upon compilation of a glossary of forest terminology and the development of a standard log scale. It decided, in addition, to emphasise the need for sound forest practice as an essential to solving problems of erosion.
The following officers were elected: —president, Mr O. Jones (Rotorua); vice-president, Mr C. Sando (Wellington); secretary. Mr A. D. McKinnon (Auckland); treasurer, Mr A. C. Forbes (Wellington); council. Messrs J. F. Field (Invercargill), G. H. Hocking (Palmerston North), J. F. Lysaght (Rotorua), and R. B. Moorhouse (PuJtaruru).
