INQUESTS HELD
- Inquests were held yesterday before the Coroner (Mr Raymond Ferner) into the deaths of the following persons, the verdicts returned also being given below:— Archibald Gilmour Bennett, aged 64, of 305 Madras street, death on March 27 due to heart failure caused by chronic myocarditis and arterial degeneration; William Slater, aged 64. of Baretta street, death on April 23 due to heart failure caused by an old infection of the heart muscles and degeneration through coronary artery disease; Colin Wilfred Early, aged 19 months, of Mayfield, death on February 27 due to toxaemia associated ■with stricture and acute inflammation of the gullet and inflammation of the mediastinum caused by swallowing caustic soda; Roy Grenville Hamilton, aged 55, of 67 Rossall street, death on April 7 caused by extensive injuries to the brain resulting from a fracture of the skull sustained when working on a chimney at his home.
