COLLEGE COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS

The rector (Professor A. H. Tocker), Mr A. E. Flower, gnd Mr Clyde Carr, M.P., will represent the Canterbury University College Council on the Adult Education Advisory Committee, according to a decision of the council yesterday afternoon. Mr C. T. Aschman and Mr Flower were appointed to the selection committee for the Lord Rutherford Memorial Fellowship. Sir Joseph Ward and Mrs S. G. Young were appointed to represent the council on the Students’ Health and Welfare Committee, the constitution of which has now been approved.

Appointments approved by the council included the following:—Mr cR. J. Jacobs, acting-preparator at the Canterbury Museum; Mr M. Jt. Tunnicliffe to the staff of the Christchurch West High School; Mr D. A. W. Jane, to the staff of the Christcßurch Boys’ High School.

The resignation of *Miss C. T. Dash from the staff of the ChristcHurch West High School was accepted with regret. / Mr L. L. Pownall was granted leave of absence for one year from the staff of the Christchurch Boys’ High School to accept a relieving appointment as lecturer in geography at the Christchurch Teachers’ Training College.
