REPERTORY SOCIETY
A THREE-ACT PLAY On Saturday evening, before the Repertory Society’s active members’ club, a dramatic reading was given of a three-act play with prologue and epilogue, written by Mr Claude Evans, a member of the society, and produced under his supervision, by Messrs Claude Davies and T. W. C. Tothill. The play, “The Clock Strikes the Hour,” is unusual both in theme and in treatment. Mr Evans is to be congratulated on his first effort as a playwright, .and the large cast of 18 readers gave a good interpretation of the play, and held the attention of the large audience at the Little Theatre (Canterbury College) till the final curtain.
After the performance, members of the cast, helpers, and friends were entertained at supper by Mr and Mrs Evans.
