AVON CLUB’S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Avon Amateur Cycling Club held its 25-mile senior and junor road championships on Saturday afternoon. In the senior section 23 riders started, the scratch men giving away BJmin to the limit riders. In the junior race the scratch men gave away 9mm to the limit Pavrell (smin) won the senior event from L. J. Percaskey (6Jmin), with F. Sandford (4min) third In the junior championship T. E. Carter (6imin) won from L. Gribbin (6Jmin) and G. Milner (7Jmin). Fastest times were Jtaioi•: L. Lock, Ihr 6min 55sec: senior: N. Mills, lhr smin 55sec. CANTERBURY CASH CLUB An 18-mile road race was held at Brighton on Saturday by the Canterbury Cash Cycle Club. The fastest time was gained by W. Howison who covered the distance in 52min 40sec. , Results:—A. E. Rolton, 52min 43sec, 1; A. C. Porter, 52min 43 l-ssec, 2; R. W. Wildermoth, 53min 43 2-ssec, 3; R. Hubbard, 58min lOsec, 4.
