LONDON CATERING FIRM CHARGED
LONDON, June 19. It was alleged in a London Court that seven tons of food, including 30,000 meat patties, was wasted between December 12 and January 2 at the London headquarters of J. Lyons and Company, Cadby Hall. The firm was also summoned for allegedly failing to take the steps necessary for preventing land, namely Cadby Hall, from becoming infested with mice.
The prosecutor pointed out that the defendants, under the Waste of Food Order, were liable to a fine of £5OO. Pleas of not guilty were entered, and the case was adjourned to June 26.
