DEATH FROM INJURIES
MOTOR-CAR AND TRACTOR COLLIDE
When a motor-car, driven by Mr J. Stewart, was involved in an accident with a tractor at the intersection of Curragh’s and Maddison’s roads, Templeton, at 7.15 a.m. yesterday, a passenger in the car, Gordon William Allison, aged 22, a freezing worker, Weedons, suffered injuries, from which he died, shortly after admission to the Christchurch Public Hospital. The driver of the car and his two brothers, Messrs K. and J. Stewart, the other occupants, were not injured. The car swung right round the intersection after coming into collision with the tractor and then turned over on its side. Mr Allison was pinned underneath. He suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to the hospital, but died shortly after. The driver of the tractor, Mr P. Ashwell. Templeton, was not injured. An inquest was opened before the Coroner (Mr Raymond Ferner) yesterday morning, and after evidence of identification had been given was adjourned sine die.
