PREFECTS SUSPENDED FROM OFFICE (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) HOBART. June 19 Because 100 boys of the Hutchins School m Hobart walked cut on Mon. to - a football match the prefects in charge of the boarders were suspended from office. This action was taken after the striking boys had been told that if they acted like gentlemen and apologised no action would be taken against them. Some apologised but others did not An official of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Association in Hobart said that the public schools had de£iaed not to have a holiday on the Kings Birthday because the second term had begun less than three weeks an ? ‘here was a holiday on June 10 for Victory Day.
