WHEAT FOR FAMINE RELIEF
REDUCED U.S. QUOTA EXPECTED (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON June 18. The Department of Agriculture has forecast that although a bumper crop is expected, the United States is unlikely to provide during the next crop year more than 250,000.000 bushels of wheat for famine relief compared with 400,000.000 bushels this year, of which a substantial part was drawn from reserves. The world’s wheat needs in the coming crop year are tentatively estimated at 1,125,000,000 bushels.
