U.S. AGREEMENT WITH CHINA
LEASE-LEND SUPPLY PAYMENTS (Rec. 8 p.m.) WASHINGTON, June 17. The State Department has announced that it has signed a leaseend agreement with China under which China will pay the United States 58,900,000 dollars for lease-lend supplies which were on the way or ordered when the Japanese war ended, excluding obligations before that. P?yments will be made in 30 annual instalments in American dollars, interest being at 2j| per cent. The State Department enmphasised that this does not constitute a final agreement fnr the settlement of leaselend with China. Actually. China’s total obligation is 1.335.632,000 dollars up to December 31, 1945.
