CONGRATULATIONS FROM MAORI PEOPLE (P.A. ) WELLINGTON, June 18. A message congratulating him upon the knighthood conferred upon him by the King was forwarded to Sir Peter Buck by the Native Minister (the Hon. H. G. R. Mason) on behalf of the Maori people and himself. Sir Peter Buck has replied as follows: “I deeply appreciate your message on behalf of my Maori people, for the honour came through my Maori heritage which provided the key to an intimate understanding of our Polynesian kinsmen.”
