Tians have been completed to make the Cenotaph in Whitehall a joint symbol of remembrance for the dead in the two world wars,” says the “Evening News.” “November 11 will cease to be Armistice Day, and the new joint Day of Remembrance will be the second Sunday in November. It will be marked with all the ceremonial and solemn dignity of Armistice Day. The King will be present and place a wreath on the Cenotaph. “The date, 1939-45, will be added to the inscription, and there will be a special unveiling ceremony, at which the increased significance of the Cenotaph will, be emphasised. “The Day of Remembrance this year falls on November 10.”
