WOODWARD CUP The Christchurch A team retained its lead in the inter-club golf series for the Woodward Cup, played over the weekend. Results so far are: Christchurch A 19 points; Waitikiri, 16J; Avondale, 12J; Russley, 11; Christchurch B, 8; Kaiapoi, 5. Russley beat Kaiapoi by 5J games to 2J at S»hirley. Results (Russley names first) : G. W. Vivian lost to R. Smith, 2 and 1; F. Williamson beat R. G. Rainey, 2/and 1; J. Logan beat L. Morris, 6 and 5; P. Gilmour beat N. S. Wyber, 4 and 3; C. G. Penlington halved with G. Hirst, all square; P. Wynn-Williams beat F. G. Hammer, 6 and 5; A. Leithead beat J. Rainey, 4 and 2; N. Cramond lost to R. C. Stewart, 2 and 1.
