KNOWLEDGE OF ALLEGATION DENIED “The question has never been raised, I? ?i y knowledge,” said the president of the Canterbury Rugby Union (Mr W. Maxwell) when questioned yesterday about the cabled report from England that the Huddersfield Rugby League had denied an allegation that the Kiwi Rugby team had not been permitted to use the main HuddersJ’ rou ?A • The cablegram stated that the allegation came from Christchurch. “H is news to me,” said Mr Maxwell. ‘I don’t know whether or not this, is a straw man they are putting up in order to knock it down.” Canterbury Rugby League officials also denied any knowledge of the origin of the allegation supposed to have emanated from Christchurch.
