DAIRY SUPPLIERS TO RESIST COLLECTION <P.A.> WHANGAREI. June 15. Alter a discussion in committee, 100 suppliers of the Kaitaia Co-operative Dairy . Company decided on measures to resist the collection of the Mangonui, rate by the Valuer-Gen-eral. The meeting was held after the receipt of rate demands from toe Valuer-General. Introducing the subject in open meeting, the chairman said he had reason to believe that the majority of the company suppliers at least had adhered to their previous decisions not to pay the rate. The Statutes Amendment Act provided authority to attach income for rating purposes, and dairy factory suppliers were directly concerned. Dairy bonus moneys were becoming due, and power had been taken wtthout recourse to the law Courts for the Valuer-General to make a collection from income.
