CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING

HALSWELL CUP RACE J. Clarke (Christchurch) set the pace for most of the six miles course in the annual cross-country race on Saturday for the Halsweti Cup, which he won convincingly on Saturday. Clarke finished strongly 200 yards ahead of L.. Fox (Individual), with F. Mair and A. H. Wayman third and fourth respectively. L. A'Court and P. Rennell tied for first place in the junior event.
