Settlement Blocked ACTION BY ONE ONION (NX Fr«« Association— Copyright! (Rec. 1 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 14. The longshoremen's and warehousemen’s leader (Mr Harry Bridges) blocked a settlement oi the threatened maritime strike alter leaders of the six other unions involved reached an agreement. Mr Bridges demanded an additional one cent an hour to equalise the West Coast dockers' wages with those of the East Coast dockers. Department of Labour conciliators and agents of Government-owned merchant ships worked until a late hour in an effort to reach a settlement in the maritime dispute before the strike deadline at midnight to-morrow.
