Mairehau.—Mrs Judd presided at the monthly meeting of the Mairehau Women’s Institute. Members responded generously to the roll call, “A cash donation to the library.” A demonstration of cake icing was given by Mrs Brockie. a member of the institute Results of monthly competitions were as follows: health loaf: Mrs Smith 1, Mrs McLaughlin 2, Mrs Collins 3. Arrangement of berries: Mrs McKenzie 1, Mrs Coleman 2, Mrs Sheffield 3. Woollen tea cosy: Mrs Young 1, Mrs Barnes 2, Mrs Smith 3.
