LINCOLN SCHOOL BUS
Sir, —I am wondering and waitink for the day when our children will be going to school again. Has the Education Board gone into a coma or departed to see the victory march? If it still happens to be in Christchurch, would it please notify the public when the Lincoln School bus will be resuming? The children have already missed a fortnight through the dilatoriness of the board. There is a bus parked at Lincoln all day, and there is no reason why this bus could not be used; but I understand the board will not pay the hire, If we kept our children home for three weeks without lawful excuse we would soon have the truant officer round. Well, the sooner he gets round to the Education Board the better.— Yours, etc., NO EXCUSE. June 12, 1946. [Mr L. E. Rowley, secretary of the Canterbury Education Boerd, said he would not break his rule not to reply to anonymous correspondents, but if “No Excuse” would call at the board’s office, an explanation was available.]
