ACCIDENTS

CYCLIST KILLED (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, June 13. When a car and a cycle collided at Hawera this evening, the cyclist, L. N. Ryde, of Hawera, was killed instantly, and his son, aged five, suffered injuries necessitating his removal to the Hawera Hospital. The child’s condition was stated to-night to be serious. FOOTBALLER BREAKS LEG Wilfred J. Ockwell, of 24 Howard Street, while at football practice last evening at the Jerrold street reserve, broke a leg. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 8.30 Srn. His condition was later reported > be satisfactory. CYCLIST INJURED Mrs Florence Bayliss, 23 Chapel street, Papanui, while cycling in Harewood road last evening, was involved in an accident with a motor-truck. She was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 6.45 p.m. suffering from head injuries. She was reported to be in a satisfactory condition last evening. ________
