IN CAMERA

Sir,—Your footnote to “Like to Know’s” letter in “The Press” this morning is interesting. In your issue of May 16. it was reported that in Sydney a case was held in camera (even voluntary social welfare workers being excluded) of a teacher at St. James' Patrician Brothers’ School having caned a boy so severely that the Child Welfare Departmept took up the matter Would this come within the category where secrecy was observed because of public morals? If not, then within what category?—Yours, etc., R.R.M. June 12, 1946.
