Overloading of Buses
State control of all road transport was discussed at the national conference of the New Zealand Drivers/ Federation in Wellington. The seer* tary (Mr F. C. Allerby) later reported; that full consideration had been given to the proposals, but that no decision* had been taken. Definite action againfl the overloading of buses and commercial vehicles was promised by Commissioner of Transport (Mr (J. I* Laurenson), who explained to the conference that during the transition W peace-time conditions there had to d® some give and take. The Transport Department, however, was definite w its decision that action would be taken, against excessive overloading.—(PA.)?
