BRITISH PLANS FOR INDIA
PRINCES REPORTED IN FAVOUR
LONDON, June 7. The executive committee of the Indian Chamber of Princes, after a meeting, announced that opinion seemed to favour accepting the proposals of the British Cabinet Mission. Reuter’s Bombay correspondent says that the meeting considered that certain points in the proposals required elucidation and clarification. The Chancellor of the Chamber (the Nawab of Bhopal) will take them up with the Viceroy (Lord Wavell) The leader of the Moslem League (Mr Jinnah) met the Viverov at New Delhi to-night. The talk followed the decision of the Moslem League to cooperate in the British plan for India.
Monterey Arrives at San Francisco. — The Monterey arrived with the brides of American servicemen and a number of civilian passengers from New Zealand and Australia.—San Francisco, June 9.
