SEED TESTING STATION

SOUTH ISLAND MERCHANTS’ VIEW (P.A.) DUNEDIN, June t The Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. B. Roberts) has said that there is : prospect of moving the seed-testing station from Palmerston North to the South Island, where most of the seeds in*the Dominion are grown. Seed merchants in the South Island, however, hold that the last word on this muchdiscussed question has not yet been said, and say they are not prepared to accept the decision of the Minister. They say that the Minister has to hear their side of the question and has been disinclined to meet representatives of South Island seed businesses but that, if he again refuses to listen to them, they intend to force the issue and make a direct approach to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser).
