MAGISTRATE’S COURT

SATURDAY (Before Messrs J J Hurley, J.P., and J. S. Robinson. J.P.) REMANDED George William Scott, a member of the crew of the ship Hopepeak, an overseas vessel, was charged with attempting to leave New Zealand with intent to disobey a maintenance order, that had been made against him. Accused was remanded to next Thursday. James Edward Rennell, aged 38 years, was remanded to appear at Wellington on June 19. when charged with committing bigamy Bail was allowed in the sum of £lOO and a surety of £2OO.

For failure to comply with a maintenance order made in favour of his wife, Herbert Bridge Thornton was remanded to to-day.
