AMERICAN ELECTED PRESIDENT
WASHINGTON, June 4. Mr Eugene Meyer, editor and publisher of the “Washington Post,” has been elected president of the World Bank.
Mr Meyer, who is 70 years of age. was a director of many corporations before he resigned in 1917 to enter the service of the Government. He was appointed adviser on non-ferrous metals to the Council of National Defence, and later held the same position with the War Industries Board. He was also a member of the National Committee on War Savings, and special assistant to the Secretary of War for Aircraft Production.
