(P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 7. Shortly sfter he went off watch at 10 p.m. on Wednesday the leading able seaman of the motor-ship Nikau, Thomas Larkin, aged 49, was found dead in the forecastle. Larkin com- j plained of feeling sick while on watch and was later found dead in his quar-i ters by a shipmate. The ship was battling heavy seas off Steeple Hock light in Cook Strait at the time and was forced to put back ; to Wellington. , An inquest was opened yesterday for identification. |
