MAN BURNED TO DEATH
*— TRUCK CATCHES FIRE TRAFFIC ACCIDENT NEAR BURNHAM One man was burned to death ana another injured when a motor-truS struck a concrete pole near Burnham about 3 o’clock yesterday morning ana caught fire. The victims were: * Killed Robert Armour, aged 27, single of 71 Jackson’s road. Lyttelton. ' ** Injured Alpha Frank Hayhurst, aged 20, sinel. of 9 Sumner road, Lyttelton. The truck crashed into a reinforced concrete pole on the left side of the road, about half-way between Bun, ham and Rolleston. It is not known how 1 the fire started. The power ser vice in the surrounding district and a* the Burnham camp was out of action for several hours after the accident™ Mr Hayhurst suffered severe shock and concussion. He was admitted tn the Christchurch Public Hospital and his condition last evening was rennet ed to be satisfactory. POTb.
