Some action towards setting up the Pacific Regional Commission, envisaged under the Canberra Agreement, will probably be taken in the next few months. It is expected that a conference will be convened by the Australian Government after the Rt. Hon. W. Nash has returned to New Zealand and reported to the New Zealand Government •on the Commonwealth discussions in London. The commission when set up will deal with native welfare and common defence questions.
