NO APPOINTMENT
SECRETARY-ORGANISER FOR E.P.S. The executive committee of the E.P.S. reported to the central committee in Christchurch yesterday that no appointment had been made in succession to Captain E. S. Summers as sec-retary-organiser. It will be recalled that Captain Summers, as he had accepted another appointment, had declined the appointment. The position was subsequently advertised and six applications were received. These were considered at a meeting on June 14. However, the executive reported: “Before making another recommendation, and in view of the progress made by the training unit committee in the reorganisation of the E.P.S., also the changed war situation, it was decided to refer the matter back to the central committee for reconsideration and redirection.”
After discussing the matter in committee, the central committee accepted the executive’s report. No appointment will be made for three months.
