MONDAY (Before Mr E. C, Lewey, S.M.) REMANDED Geoffrey Redmond Turner, a labourer, aged 23, was remanded to appeal’ on June 21, on a change of breaking and entering a house at Lejthfield on June 3, and committing theft. WOMAN CHARGED Myrtle Darrell, a factory hand, aged 17 years If months, pleaded not guilty to a charge of converting a bicycle valued at £B, the property of Peggy Barnett, on June 10. A constable said that Darrell had been stopped for riding a bicycle without a light, and it had then been found the bicycle was pot hers. The case was stood down for a day to enable a report to be obtained from the Probation Officer. (Before Mr F. F. Reid, S.M.) maintenance CASES For default in maintenance payments, in respect of wife and child, Reginald Brown was convicted and sentenced to a month’s imprisonment, warrant to be suspended provided arrears (£2O 7s 6d) are paid off at 5s a week, in addition to current maintenance payments. George Louis Bertram, for default in payments for his wife, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within two years, conditional on arrears (£l7l 15s sd) being paid off at 10s a week, in addition to current maintenance payments. Maintenance, separation, and guardianship orders were made against' Robert Harold Joseph Wheeler. Maintenance for the wife and two children was fixed at £2 a week.
