A Southland girl, writing to a friend in Invercargill, mentions the long hours worked by women in war-work in England. This girl who is working ® a munitions factory writes that on all week days except Friday the girls work from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Fridays work is stopped one hour earlier and on Saturdays they work fromi 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a break of 10 minutes at 10 a.m. and also at 4 p.m., and they are allowed one hour for dinner.
